I love Africa, because it is not a country. And when things fall apart, in the house of hunger, as Africa has sometimes been known to the world, even living, loving and lying awake at night, somehow despite all the diseases and catastrophes hurled at her, Africa gets up like a man, even beaten down by death and the king’s horsemen. The battus may be on strike, the beautiful ones may not be born yet, and life is not whole but stretched to a half, and if for some, Africa’s long walk to freedom, has been interspersed with desertion of pilgrims to foreignness but easier lives, the memory of departure instils the audacity to hope for You in America.

Why blogging on Africa? Yeah … why? Will it change anything? Will it bring any positive impact for the so-called black continent?

Blogging about the real African facts can be our little contribution to help “Mama Africa”.

I want to see miracles, see the World change – Switchfoot

I started my post with a line that I picked up from Switchfoot’s song and I know the word “miracle” sounds a bit too much. It’s not a shame to dare to dream of a better situation, better incomes, yes better life for African people but you just need to wake up and make them come true.

The most important thing to me is to say how things are REALLY going on here.

Why blogging on Africa? Because, people don’t know the “real” Africa.

In blogging, we share one another our happiness, and our sadness. We’re all here to help one another. So guyz, let’s blog, to share what your plan is, what you have, what you know, what you discover. With that endeavour, this world is going to change completely in the better way.

I believe that the entire world can learn more about the Life; Customs; Traditions, and internal life in Africa by bloggers. The mass media sometimes can hide the truth from us; but we, bloggers, can show and tell the reality.

The more we blog about it, people will learn and appreciate the uniqueness of Africa. As all other countries, Africa craves to have a change too.

Africa, if you want success, please, stop dreaming, stop having a DREAM, ACT NOW.

Some members of the audience may have been sceptical – “blogging is too complex… where is the power for the connection, the internet is still a luxury” was the comment of one listener – but the BBC World Service Radio programme Network Africa showed that blogging in Africa is a reality – and a growing one.
